Beninca gate motor: manual release and faults
Verified steps here are for Beninca sliding gate motors such as the BULL, YAK and BISON. For other Beninca motors, call us.

Opening the gate by hand
- Turn off the power to the gate.
- If the gate has any extra lock, unlock it.
- BULL and YAK: put in the release key, turn it, then pull the release lever open.
- BISON: the release uses an allen key. If you don't have one, or aren't sure, call us.
- Move the gate slowly by hand.
Putting it back to automatic
- Close the release lever (or turn the release back) and lock it with the key.
- Turn the power back on and check the gate's path is clear.
- Tell everyone who uses the gate that it's back on automatic, then run it once.
If the gate stops or reverses
- Check nothing is between the photocells or in the gate's path. If it still won't work, call us.
Keep the release key somewhere safe and easy to find, away from the gate.

How do I open a Beninca gate in a power cut?
Turn off the power, unlock any extra lock, use the release key and lever, then move the gate slowly by hand.
How do I put it back to automatic?
Close the release lever, lock it with the key, turn the power on, check the path is clear and tell other users.
I've lost the release key. What now?
Call Fortline on 01635 938998. Don't force the release.
