Maintenance contracts that keep you compliant
We service fire alarms to BS 5839-1, which recommends a service at least every six months, and test emergency lighting to BS 5266-1, including the annual full-duration test, usually three hours. We replace failed lamps, batteries and fittings; any mains electrical work is carried out by third-party electrical contractors. Intruder alarms are serviced and, if you want it, monitored. You get a certificate after every visit and one renewal date for every system on site.
Our Protect maintenance plan includes one callout a year (two if you have three or more systems with us). Not sure how often you need a visit? Read How often does a fire alarm need servicing?
Changing contractor
If your current contractor misses visits, can't answer questions about your system, or has stopped trading, you can move your servicing without replacing equipment that still works. Book a free system health check: we test the systems, review your log book and certificates, and give you written findings graded by priority. If you decide to switch, our office handles it.
Repairs and callouts
Panel faults, repeated false alarms, an intruder alarm that won't set, or failed emergency light fittings: we find the cause and put it right, and nothing is fitted without your approval. Call 01635 938998. The office is open Monday to Friday, 9am to 5:30pm, and outside those hours the same number reaches our 24/7 emergency line.
Is your alarm ready for the phone line switch-off?
The UK's old analogue phone network is being switched off, with the move to digital lines due to be completed by January 2027. If your intruder alarm or fire alarm still sends signals over a phone line, it could stop reaching the monitoring centre without anyone noticing. We'll check how your alarm signals and tell you honestly whether it needs anything; usually it's a digital communicator with a mobile network backup, not a new alarm. If you'd like your alarm monitored afterwards, we can include that in a maintenance contract. Read our switch-off advice.
Fire safety duties, simply
The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 applies to almost every non-domestic premises and to the shared parts of blocks of flats. The Responsible Person has to keep fire safety systems maintained and be able to show it. Fire risk assessments are arranged via our accredited partner, and we then keep your fire alarm and emergency lighting in line with it.
