Annual full-duration test
Once a year every emergency light needs to run on its battery for its full rated duration, usually three hours, to prove it will last. We carry out the test, record each fitting and issue a certificate in line with BS 5266-1.
Making the most of the visit
While the lights are on test, our engineer services your other systems on site, such as the fire alarm, extinguishers or access control. One visit instead of several.
Monthly checks
A quick monthly function test is usually done by someone on site. We'll show you how and give you a log to record it, or we can do it for you.
Repairs and replacements
Failed lamps, batteries and fittings are replaced like for like, with your approval. Any mains electrical work, such as new circuits or a new emergency lighting system, is carried out by third-party electrical contractors.

How often does emergency lighting need testing?
A short monthly function test, usually done on site, and an annual full-duration test, typically three hours, carried out by a competent person and recorded.
Will the annual test disrupt my building?
The lights are on battery for the duration, so we plan it with you. We often service your other systems during the same visit.
What happens if a fitting fails?
We record it and quote for a repair or replacement, so you know exactly what needs doing to stay compliant.
