Intruder alarm help: resetting and faults
After an alarm, most systems need resetting before they can be set again. Some can be reset with your user code. Others need us. Pick your system below.
Pick your make
The make is usually printed on the panel, keypad, recorder or motor cover. If you can't find it, call us and we'll tell you.
Orisec
Keypads and the Control Plus 2 app
Pyronix
Enforcer V10 and V11
Texecom
Premier Elite
Ajax
Wireless systems and the Ajax app
How it works
Use your user code or tag to silence the alarm. The keypad or app usually shows which detector or door caused it. Check that area before resetting.
If the system asks for an engineer reset or a code from the monitoring centre, that's normal for monitored and police-response alarms. Call us and we'll sort it.

Keep it working
Simple checks between services catch most problems early. See how to look after your intruder alarm system.

How do I reset my burglar alarm after it went off?
Use your user code or tag to silence it, check what caused it, then follow the reset steps for your make. Our guides cover Orisec, Pyronix, Texecom and Ajax.
Why does my alarm need an engineer to reset it?
Monitored and police-response alarms are often set up to need an engineer or monitoring centre reset after an alarm. Call Fortline on 01635 938998.
My alarm won't set. What should I check?
Look for an open door or window, or something moving in front of a detector. If it still won't set, call us.
The keypad says tamper. Is that serious?
Yes. A tamper alert means a cover or wire may have been disturbed. Don't open anything; call us.
Can I set my alarm from my phone?
Orisec systems can use the Control Plus 2 app, and Ajax systems use the Ajax app, if set up for your account.
