Video guide coming soon

A short video showing these Morley-IAS steps will go here. Until then, follow the steps on this page.

After a fire alarm

Follow these steps in order. Never silence or reset before the cause is known and the building is confirmed safe.

  1. Follow your fire procedure first. The zone lights and screen show where the alarm is.
  2. Press MUTE BUZZER to quieten the panel's buzzer. This works without a code.
  3. Find the cause, such as a pressed call point. Any sign of fire, or no cause found: get everyone out, call 999, then call us.
  4. Press a control key and enter your user code, or turn the access key if one is fitted.
  5. Once the cause is known and the building is confirmed safe, press SILENCE / RESOUND to stop the sounders, then call us on 01635 938998.
  6. When the cause has been corrected, press RESET to clear the alarm.

Afterwards

  1. Record the alarm in your log book.

If the panel shows a fault

  1. Press MUTE BUZZER.
  2. Read the fault on the screen and write it in your log book.
  3. Call us on 01635 938998. Don't reset it or disable devices to make the fault go away.

Common questions

How do I silence a Morley fire alarm?

Enter your user code or turn the access key, then press SILENCE / RESOUND. Only once the cause is known and the building is confirmed safe. Then call us.

How do I reset a Morley DX panel?

Once the cause has been found and cleared, press RESET using your user code or key. If it goes straight back into alarm, treat it as a real fire: get everyone out, call 999, then call us.

Can anyone mute the buzzer?

Yes. MUTE BUZZER works without a code. It only quietens the panel. The fire or fault is still there.

The Supply Fault light is on. What does it mean?

There's a problem with the mains, the battery or the charger. Call Fortline on 01635 938998. In a long power cut the panel may stop working.

Should I disable a faulty detector?

No. Call us. A disabled device can't detect a fire.
