Video guide coming soon
A short video showing these Haes steps will go here. Until then, follow the steps on this page.
After a fire alarm
Follow these steps in order. Never silence or reset before the cause is known and the building is confirmed safe.
- Follow your fire procedure first. The panel shows the zone in alarm.
- Find the cause, such as a pressed call point. Any sign of fire, or no cause found: get everyone out, call 999, then call us.
- Turn the Activate Controls key a quarter turn clockwise, or use your user code if your panel is set up for codes.
- Once the cause is known and the building is confirmed safe, press SILENCE / RESOUND ALARMS once to stop the sounders, then call us on 01635 938998.
- When the cause has been cleared, press RESET. All the lights come on for a few seconds, then the panel returns to normal.
Afterwards
- The panel won't reset until the alarm is silenced, or while the cause is still there. If it won't reset, call us.
- Turn the key back and record the alarm in your log book.
If the panel shows a fault
- Read the fault on the screen. On Fusion panels you can accept it by pressing SILENCE.
- Write the fault in your log book.
- Call us on 01635 938998. A System Fault can only be reset by an engineer.
What the lights mean
- Fire / zone lights (red)
- A fire alarm, and which zone it is in.
- General Fault (yellow)
- A fault. The screen shows details on Fusion panels.
- Pre-alarm (yellow)
- A detector is seeing more smoke or heat than normal. Take it seriously.
- Sounder Fault (yellow)
- A fault on the sounder circuit.
- PSU (yellow)
- Power supply failure.
- System Fault (yellow)
- The panel's processor has stopped. Only an engineer can reset this.
Haes say there are no user-serviceable parts inside the panel and the door should only be opened by an engineer.

How do I silence a Haes fire alarm?
Turn the Activate Controls key (or use your user code if set up), then press SILENCE / RESOUND ALARMS. Only once the cause is known and the building is confirmed safe. Then call us.
Why won't my Haes panel reset?
It won't reset until the alarm has been silenced, or while the cause is still there, such as a pressed call point or smoke near a detector. Call us if you can't find the cause.
What does the Pre-alarm light mean?
A detector is seeing more smoke or heat than normal. It could be a fire starting or a detector problem. If there is any sign of fire, get everyone out and call 999. Otherwise call us.
The System Fault light is on. Can I clear it?
No. It needs an engineer. Call Fortline on 01635 938998.
Can I open the panel to look inside?
No. There are dangerous voltages inside and no parts you can fix yourself.
